Polishing copper rod is a type of copper material that has undergone surface finishing, with a smooth and shiny appearance and excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. The following is a detailed introduction about polishing copper rods:
1. Main features
High surface finish: Remove surface defects through mechanical polishing or chemical polishing to achieve a mirror or matte effect.
Excellent conductivity/thermal conductivity: The conductivity of pure copper (such as T2 purple copper) can reach 100% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard).
Corrosion resistance: After surface oxidation, a protective film is formed to extend the service life (if corrosion resistance needs to be enhanced, tin plating or nickel can be used).
Good plasticity: easy to further process (such as bending, cutting, welding).
2. Common materials
Purple copper (pure copper): such as T1 and T2, with a purity of ≥ 99.9% and the best conductivity.
Brass (copper zinc alloy): such as H62, H65, with high hardness, balancing strength and decorative properties.
Bronze (copper tin alloy): It has good wear resistance and is commonly used in mechanical components.
3. Processing technology
Mechanical polishing: Use a grinding wheel, sand belt, or polishing wheel to gradually polish until smooth.
Chemical polishing: Dissolving surface impurities in acidic or alkaline solutions to achieve uniform gloss.
Electrolytic polishing: Electrochemical methods improve surface flatness, suitable for high-precision requirements.
4. Application Fields
Electronic and electrical: wire terminals, switch components, transformer windings.
Decoration engineering: lighting fixtures, furniture accessories, building decorative strips.
Mechanical manufacturing: bearings, valves, precision instrument parts.
Heat exchange system: radiators, condenser tubes, etc.
5. Specification parameters
Diameter range: usually from Φ 1mm to Φ 150mm (customizable).
Length: Standard 1m~6m, or cut as needed.
Surface roughness: Ra ≤ 0.8 μ m (mirror polishing can achieve Ra ≤ 0.2 μ m).
6. Precautions
Anti oxidation: It is recommended to seal the packaging or apply anti rust oil during storage.
Avoid scratches: When handling, it is necessary to protect the surface smoothness.
Selection suggestion: Choose pure copper according to the conductivity requirements, and choose brass/bronze for structural components
